Information Sent from the App
Under the external transmission rules of Japan's Telecommunications Business Act, this page lists the information the mobile app "Minority Wins" (the "App") sends from your device, where it goes and why. For our overall handling of personal information, see the Privacy Policy.
1. Not collected or sent
The App does not collect your real name, phone number, address, contacts, photos or GPS location. Payment details such as card numbers are handled by Apple / Google and never reach us. iOS purchases are verified by checking the App Store's signature on the transaction on our server with Apple's certificates, so nothing is sent to Apple for that check.
2. What is sent
| Recipient | Information | Purpose | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google (Firebase Authentication / Cloud Firestore / Cloud Functions) | Anonymous account ID, nickname, scores, votes, the text of questions you post, report and block records, Question Ticket balance, and, if you link one, your Google / Apple user ID and email address; if you make a purchase, purchase verification data (see "Our server (purchase verification)" below) | Identifying your account, running the game (voting, tallying, rankings), handling objectionable posts | While you use the App (after you accept the Terms and Privacy Policy) |
| Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) / Apple (APNs, iOS only) | A per-device notification token and the subscription to the new-questions topic | Delivering push notifications when a new question goes live | While notifications are allowed. Turn them off on the Profile screen or in device settings. We do not store the token on our servers |
| Google (Gemini API) | The text of a posted question (sent from our server) | AI moderation of posted content | When you post a question |
| Google (Google Sign-In) / Apple (Sign in with Apple, iOS only) | Credentials needed to sign in, user ID, email address | Account linking, and signing in with a linked account (to restore it after a reinstall, device change or sign-out) | Only when you link an account on the Profile screen, or tap "Sign in with Google" / "Sign in with Apple" on the start screen (optional) |
| Pangle (an advertising platform operated by Bytedance Pte. Ltd., including the TikTok Business SDK bundled with the Pangle SDK) | Advertising identifier (Android advertising ID / iOS IDFA, the IDFA only if you allow tracking), IP address and the approximate region inferred from it, device information (model, OS, language and so on), ad interactions such as views and taps, SDK diagnostics (crashes, performance) | Ad delivery and display, ad measurement, analytics, fraud prevention | iOS: after you answer the system tracking prompt on first launch. Android: after you answer "About ads" on first launch. On both, while ads are shown |
| Apple (App Store) / Google (Google Play) | Information needed to purchase a Question Ticket (consumable, JPY 150 each); payment is processed by the store | Processing in-app purchases | When you make a purchase in the Shop |
| Our server (Google Cloud Functions, purchase verification) | Purchase verification data (iOS: the transaction information signed by the App Store, including the transaction ID, product ID and purchase date; Android: the Google Play purchase token), product ID and platform. After verification we record your user ID, product ID, platform, purchase environment (production / test purchase), the store transaction ID (the order ID on Google Play) and the grant time | Granting the Question Ticket only for a genuine purchase, and preventing duplicate grants | When you make a purchase in the Shop (it may be re-sent, for example on the next launch, until the grant completes) |
| Google (Google Play Developer API, Android only) | Purchase token and product ID (queried from our server) | Confirming the purchase state (purchased, canceled and so on) | When you make a purchase on Android |
See Firebase Privacy and Security, Google's Privacy Policy, Apple's Privacy Policy and the Pangle End User Data Privacy Policy for how each recipient handles it.
3. Opting out
- Stop personalized ads: on the App's Profile screen, open "広告の設定" (Ad settings) and choose "許可しない" (Don't allow) (iOS and Android). You still see ads, but they are not personalized. On iOS, ads are also not personalized if you choose not to allow tracking in the first-launch tracking prompt.
- iOS: turn the App off under Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking and the IDFA is not sent.
- Android: delete or reset the advertising ID under "Ads" (or "Google" > "Ads") in the device's Settings app.
- Push notifications: turn them off on the Profile screen or in device settings.
- Delete everything: use "Delete account" on the Profile screen (instructions).
